Nashville

We got to the Opryland Hotel around 1pm Nashville time, checked in, and had lunch at the Cascades Seafood Restaurant. The food was very good (especially the catfish dish), but as other things in the hotel, not cheap! However, we did get plenty of food. Much more food than I had expected. The hotel is huge, and so beautifully decorated for Christmas time. You could spend a whole weekend just hanging out in the hotel.

After lunch we walked around and tried to plan what we might want to do the rest of the weekend. We then rested a bit, and walked in the very chilly afternoon air to the Opry Mills mall. What a huge place! We just spent the afternoon walking in the mall, doing some Christmas shopping (Tuan bought me a great present!), and then we had dinner in the food court before braving the cold to walk back.

On Saturday, we went to have lunch at Demo's downtown which was a great place for lunch. Great service, good prices and great food. I would recommend asking for the sampler of the sauces with bread, it is a great way to help decide what to eat, and it is a great appetizer for free. While walking downtown a bit, we found tons of live music even during the day on a Saturday.

On Sunday, we caught a Titans game. Nashville not only has a professional foodball team, but a professional hockey team, and an arena football team as well. Sporting events are always great eating and people watching spots if you don't enjoy the sports themselves. If you are traveling to Nashville, in the near future, be warned that there is quite a bit of construction and rerouting going on.
